When given the opportunity to visit Okemo Mountain Resort during the height of winter 2024, I jumped on it. With most of the mountain fully open, we could not have been more stoked to ski actual snow. Beyond skiing solid conditions, Jackson Gore Village Okemo offered up a wide variety of excellent food and beverage options as well as a 90s-themed Après Afternoons at area that more than delivered the goods on an excellent weekend.
With Mt. Bachelor situated not too far outside the city, Bend is consistently lauded for its epic mountain experiences and burgeoning craft brewery scene. Furthermore, the Subaru Winterfest was in full swing that weekend, headlined by indie darlings Ruby Waters and Cold War Kids. All this combined made this Bend, Oregon trip the perfect blend of slopeside thrills and post-shred libations.
From the quaint town of Mammoth Lakes to the charming base village and everywhere in between, you will find plenty of fun to be had off the slopes. Let's face it, Vail is known more for their glitzy mega-resorts than anything else.
