With one morning of our trip to Chautauqua, NY left, we fortuitously stumbled upon Ellicottville Coffee Co prior to spending a few hours skiing at Holimont. This private ski club lived up to the hype of its pristine snow conditions, limited crowds and not an ounce of pretentiousness that you would expect from a club.
At only 400 feet of vertical, Peek n Peak isn't exactly big mountain skiing. This, however, doesn't seem to matter much to the regulars. The terrain is still fun and the people are more there for for a combination of drinking and skiing. Highlighted by three on-mountain bars you'll find an apres ski scene where people ski and snowboard from one bar to the other.
My ski trip to Chautauqua NY can't be covered in one post. With a packed agenda that had us all over this fun region, you'll come to understand how a combination of skiing, wineries, craft breweries/distilleries and some really nice people create a symbiotic relationship that make the Chautauqua region well worth it.
