All About Apres, apres ski, Mountain Music Festivals, Rich Stoner, Stratton Mountain, stratton mountain resort, WinterWonderGrass -

Photo credit: WinterWonderGrass Their promotional material reads WinterWonderGrass...Music, Brews and Mountains. Honestly, as a craft beer loving skier who is a sucker for live music I don't think it gets any better than this. I've been to my fair share of music festivals and there's nothing quite like the ones at ski resorts. Maybe it's that mountain air but everyone just seems a little bit happier than normal. That being said, the second that I found out that WinterWonderGrass was coming to one of my favorite resorts on the East Coast, Stratton, I knew that I needed to be there....

Photo Credit: Hop Culture Magazine Ahhhhh...the 80's. What a great decade for mountain culture? Highlighter bright colors, jackets with shoulder pads or, better yet, a onesie, straight skis the length of picnic tables, pit viper sunglasses, big hair flowing in the wind as you raced down the mountain. Yup, 80's skiing was spectacular and so was the après with its cheap light beer, snow bunnies and classic sweaters. I could go on and on about what defined this generation on the mountain however, I'll spare you an even longer list of details. and just encourage you to watch the movie Hot...

If you have been to Snowbasin, you know that it is a hidden gem. Being tucked a little further away from Salt Lake City and Park City than the Alta's and Deer Valley's of the world and based more around the town of Ogden which isn't quite as posh (but still an incredible city in its own regard) as its more publicized neighbors, skiers tend not to think about going there. Selfishly, I'd love to keep it that way so it maintains its charm but I fear that the word is out thanks to this year's Ski Magazine article. So with the cat out of the bag,...

When it first saw the light of day amidst a developing Mont Tremblant resort, Le P'tit Caribou was a cozy little bar where skiers would go after a day on the mountain. However, what may have started as an unassuming place instantly became on overnight success. The shelled peanuts, the delicious pizza from its simple stone oven, the tradition of dancing on the bar at the end of the night, whatever the reason Le P'tit Caribou became the place to be in the Tremblant village. Now, fast forward 25 years and this après-skier's paradise has withstood the test of time and even been renowned...

All About Apres, apres ski, craft beer, craft beer pairing, Growler USA, Rich Stoner, ski, skiing, snowbaord, snowboading, Thanksgiving -

Photo Credit: Growler USA From the time that I was a child,Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays. Aside from it being the unofficial kickoff to the hap hap happiest time of the year, conceptually, the holiday itself is wonderful. It is really hard to surpass the idea of spending time with family and friends while gorging yourself on food and drinks to the point of explosion then changing into your dress sweats to relax, nap and watch football. Ah yes, it doesn't get much better. Nowadays, I like to kick off my turkey day at my friend's house...
