To say it has been snowy out West this winter would be the understatement of the century. It seems like week after week for the last two months there has been one snow storm after another. Weather like this could have some of these western ski resorts skiing and snowboarding for a couple more months but the fact of the matter is is that, despite what the weather says, spring is actually here.
Nothing goes better with spring skiing than a good festival. Festivals are to the end of your ski season what après ski is to your ski day.
Spring festivals are ultimate après ski party and Aspen Snowmass is no stranger to either. In fact, this year they are launching a new music festival, appropriately named The Après that is guaranteed to be the beast Après ski in Aspen.
New Festival Offers an Amazing Après Ski Music Lineup
The Après is a new event done in collaboration with the iconic music venue Belly Up Aspen. Kicking off Friday there will be three days of live music on the snow at Buttermilk, right where the X Games are held.
The music lineup is a damn good one too. Umphrey's McGee is headlining Friday night with The String Cheese Incident following suit on Saturday and Sunday. Other musical guests include: Moon Taxi, the Main Squeeze, Southern Taxi, Alo and even more.
Aspen's The Après is going huge in its first year and promises to be the best apres ski in Aspen.
How could they not with the winter they are having?
Après ski in Aspen on the mountain runs from noon to 2 Pm each day at each of the four Aspen mountains before the festivities ramp up over at Buttermilk. And, of course, all four mountains will be open for skiing and riding all weekend long.
