A new week, means another incredible guest on the Beyond the Après podcast. In this episode, Halley O'Brien from The Snow Report and I are joined by the legendary Sean Lawson of Lawson's Finest Liquids.

Since 2008 Lawson's Finest has been brewing up some of New England's best craft beers. Known for his renowned Sip of Sunshine IPA, Sean Lawson has been instrumental in cultivating the region's incredible craft beer scene that exists today. He also happens to have quite an affinity for tequila. So pull down the safety bar and enjoy the ride because this is a fun one.

Meet Sip of Sunshine's Little Cousin?

Lawson's Finest Liquids Little Sip

Halley and I have drank more than our share of Sip of Sunshine IPA through the years, but we had no idea that it had a little cousin. That is until now. Lawson's Finest Liquids was kind enough to send us samples of one of their newest releases, Little Sip.

Billed as the little cousin to their flagship Sip of Sunshine IPA, it has all the fruit forward, tropical hoppiness that you would expect but at only 6.6% ABV.

It's pretty damn delicious and, very drinkable which could be dangerous because 6.6% ABV is nothing to shake a stick at.

From New Jersey to Vermont to Craft Beer Icon

The first thing you notice about Sean Lawson when you start talking to him is that he is as humble a human as you can find. Very down to Earth for someone of his status within the craft beer world. Lawson actually grew up in Little Silver, NJ (the town right next to where I currently reside). He moved to Vermont for college and never left. Since that time, Lawson has built a beer empire.

What began as a small batch operation in a syrup shack in Warren has now grown into a major craft beer operation in New England. This includes their new taproom in Waitsfield that serves, not only, as a craft beer tourism destination but also a sweet après-ski location for nearby Sugarbush and Mad River Glen. With all that is going on, Lawson still manages to find some time to ski (I hear he's a telemarker) and sip tequila (his favorite drink) during après. Who would've guessed?
