Roadhouse Pub & Eatery Thriving After Long Awaited Debut

Tom Petty was right when he said that the waiting is the hardest part. That's exactly what it felt like for Roadhouse Brewing Company fans, like ourselves, who have been anxiously awaiting the opening of their new brew pub since we first heard about it over a year ago. When your co-founders are award winning home brewer Colby Cox and renowned restaurateur, Gavin Fine how could you not wait with anticipation? A brew pub just makes too much sense. However, a few hang ups along the way, delayed the opening from what we thought would have been last summer to this December. Nonetheless, the Roadhouse Pub & Eatery is here and with its location in the heart of Jackson Hole’s iconic Town Square, crushing it.

Is anyone really surprised by this though? Gavin Fine and his Fine Dining Group have been thriving as part of the restaurant scene in Jackson Hole since 2001 having opened nine establishments in that time. And, when Fine and brewer Colby Cox teamed up in 2012 they have continuously pumped out some of the best beers in the region. Aside from its highly reputable ownership group, the brew pub features an in-restaurant, five-barrel brew house complete with more than 30 unique taps to go alongside a menu of elevated gastropub fare. The new space acts not only as a brewery and restaurant, but also as a test kitchen where diners and drinkers have the first taste of beers that Roadhouse Brewing Co. will distribute nationwide. This includes new experimental beers and also some of my Roadhouse favorites like their Family Vacation a quaff able cream ale, Avarice & Greed, a dangerously tasty yet deceptively strong Belgian and, of course, Loose Boots their tasty face shot of hops après-ski beer.

Aligning with the brewery’s food-beer pairing expertise, Gavin has crafted a menu of elevated gastropub fare to complement the wide range of brews that includes must tries like:

  • Duck Confit Poutine: Wisconsin cheddar curds, house cut fries, duck au poivre, scallion
  • Skirt Steak: raspberry beret poached pear, prosciutto, chimichurri

  • Sides like Shishito Peppers with yuzu aioli; Potato Churros with sambal ketchup; Bruschetta with locally grown Vertical Harvest tomatoes; and Curried Cauliflower with pickled peppers, cashew and cilantro

They even have a rotating taco happy hour! Who wouldn't want that as an après-ski munchie when you come off the mountain?

A the moment, the Roadhouse Pub & Eatery is blossoming into a Jackson Hole hot spot with its winter crowd of locals and visitors alike. However, this is in no way merely a wintertime venue. Come summertime, Roadhouse Pub & Eatery will boast the Town Square’s only outdoor restaurant patio overlooking Jackson Hole’s charming square and famed antler arches. The bi-level space also includes a Pub Shop at street level, offering Roadhouse merchandise, a crowler filling station, and treats from Gavin's Cream + Sugar artisan ice cream and Bovine + Swine sausage and cured meats. MMMMMMMMM...cured meats and ice cream and beer, my three favorite food groups. Just another reason why the new Roadhouse Brewing Company's Pub & Eatery needs to be on your list of stops when visiting Jackson Hole.
