Blog post updated on July 6, 2022

So much in our lives has changed since the current Covid-19 pandemic came upon us almost two years ago. Our beloved ski and snowboard industry has not been the same since. Travel has suffered greatly and so too has the food and beverage industry. Combined, they make up a huge and important component of a good ski vacation.

Obviously, we need to get to our ski destination first. Then, once there, we will definitely need to eat. Despite these prevailing issues within the ski industry, there is some good to come out of the chaos. It has forced those within the industry to pivot in order to survive. One such location is Stowe Mountain Resort. There, the new Lodge at Spruce Peak restaurants have been unveiled and are climbing their way to the top of the list of best restaurants in Stowe, Vt.

New Lodge at Spruce Peak Restaurants Unveiled in 2020

Creative juices have been flowing at ski resorts across North America since they were forced to shut down in the spring of 2020. Since that time we have seen ski resorts like Snowbasin has made many improvements ahead of their 80th anniversary season. The Lodge at Spruce Peak, located at Stowe Mountain Resort was no exception.

Prior to the 2020-21 winter season, new Spruce Peak Lodge restaurants opened that included a sushi bar, the heated WhistlePig Pavilion and private igloos. With additions like this, there is no doubt that guests found their Stowe apres ski experience quite elevated.

Fast forward one year and the Spruce Peak Lodge is back at it. In December of 2022 two more dining options that will rank among the best restaurants in Stowe, Vt.

Spruce Peak Lodge has taken their igloos to another level. Just the idea of the WhistlePig Pavilion sounds spectacular.

You really can't go wrong with a heated outdoor bar area named after a great whiskey brand, right?

WhistlePig makes some excellent whiskeys and this Spruce Peak Lodge restaurant is make all their drinks with the local WhistlePig rye whiskey.  Whether served neat or mixed up in a creative cocktail, the menu at WhistlePig Pavilion will certainly warm you up after a day of Stowe Vermont skiing.

If you thought that was enough, you were wrong. The WhistlePig Pavilion is serving up more than just great whiskey.

What could be better than whiskey after a day on the slopes?

Fire-baked raclette cheese, of course. I can't think of anything more après-ski appropriate than an Old Fashioned paired with ooey, gooey raclette.

They even have raclette nachos! Talk about taking it to the next level.
