All About Après and The Firetower to Host a Family Friendly Après Ski Party at This Weekend's Vt. Open
I love après ski and I am fairly certain that my wife is only in it for the après. However, what is really cool is that my kids love après ski too. I am not talking about the dancing on the tables, drinking out of a shotski kind of après ski, although my 9 year old and her friend do love a good Bruce Jacques performance at Mount Snow's Cuzzins. I am talking about the general good times of being together with your family and friends after a long day skiing and riding. Sharing stories, drinking hot chocolates, eating rice crispy treats...yup that's the kind of post pow experience that my girls love. Truthfully, what kid wouldn't be into that? It's super fun, filled with goodies and is the cherry on top of what makes the entire ski experience the best family friendly activity that I know. It is also the primary reason why when we re-branded last summer we incorporated more family friendly graphics, like our mascot, "Après" the St. Bernard, into our look and our overall character. All About Après is all about the people that you spend it with and for us it's our family and great friends. So when one of those friends, Peter Micioni, owner of The Firetower Restaurant and Tavern, approached me about doing an après ski party this winter that included giveaways for the kids, I was immediately onboard.
Stoked to be collaborating with one of my favorite places to play after a day on the slopes, this Saturday, its' All About Après at The Firetower. Come hang with us on their awesome patio from 3-5 pm where there will be a raffle for the kids to win some of our sweet "Après" the St. Bernard T-shirts as well as cookies for kids in attendance. The best part, both entrance into the raffle and the cookies are FREE for the kids! However, this is all about family and The Firetower has the parents covered too. Stirring up creatively tasty après ski cocktails such as their Bacon Old Fashion and cooking delicious apps, including their Ahi Tuna Nachos parents will be hard pressed not to enjoy their time right alongside their kids.
With Stratton Mountain hosting the Vermont Open during the day and concerts that include Vermont's own jam band, Twiddle, at night, this is the perfect time and place for the whole family to wind down a bit before heading back out for the night.
