Two Colorado Institutions Join Forces for One Amazing Apres Ski Experience

Stoke and Rye, the popular restaurant inside the award-winning Westin Riverfront Beaver Creek, will kick off this new immersive whiskey experience on Friday, March 17 just in time for St. Patrick's Day. From then until Sunday, April 2nd, guests can check après ski in a whiskey barrel off their bucket (or barrel) list.
Stranahan's Whiskey was founded by George Stranahan and Jess Graber in 2004. Interestingly enough, at that time it was the first legal distillery in the state of Colorado since Prohibition ended. Now they are at the forefront of Colorado's growing distillery scene and one of America's leading American Single Malt whiskey.
Similarly, Chef Richard Sandoval's Stoke and Rye is equally popular in the state of Colorado. Located inside the Vail Valley’s award-winning Westin Riverfront Beaver Creek it draws in visitors from all over to taste their creative, yet approachable take on classic American cuisine.
Now, these two great Colorado institutions are joining forces to bring patrons arguably the most unique après ski experience out there.

The Stranahan’s whiskey barrels will be available daily during this period for après ski from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. on the Stoke & Rye patio.
Once inside these heated behemoths, visitors will have two Stranahan’s tasting experiences to choose from. Each - featured below - is paired with a special menu created by the culinary team at Stoke & Rye.
Blue Peak Experience - $90 per person
- Maple Old Fashioned Cocktail + Burrata Salad - arugula, truffle salt & heirloom cherry tomatoes
- Stranahan's Original + Smoked Oysters – with pine, lemon-bourbon aioli, trout caviar & chimichurri
- Stranahan's Sherry Cask + Beef Tartare - black garlic aioli, marble potato chips, green tapenade, cured quail egg yolk & grilled focaccia
Black Diamond Experience - $110 per person
- Maple Old Fashioned Cocktail + Burrata salad - arugula, truffle salt & heirloom cherry tomatoes
- Stranahan's Original + Smoked Oysters - pine, lemon-bourbon aioli, trout caviar & chimichurri
- Stranahan's Sherry Cask + Beef Tartare - black garlic aioli, marble potato chip, green tapenade, cured quail egg yolk &grilled focaccia
- Stranahan's Diamond Peak + Bread Pudding - with whiskey sauce, berry & vanilla ice cream

What does one wear when going to après ski in a whiskey barrel? Can't say I can answer that honestly as I've never experienced it for myself.
