Quick and Crafty Brew Review: New Belgium Oakspire Ale

An Après Skier's Take on A Bourbon Barrel Ale for the Kentucky Derby

Hello everybody, this is Rich with All About Après coming to you with our first ever quick and crafty brew review. I'm weeding out all the BS. No long-winded beer reviews, just telling you what we're drinking and why we're drinking it. Today is Derby Day everybody. The Derby is about two things: hats…honestly, I wanted a Darth Vader hat but I don't have one because it's also May the Fourth, so I’m going with one of ours and bourbon. So, that being said, our first beer that we're gonna do is this Oakspire Bourbon Barrel ale. It's a collaboration between New Belgium and Knob Creek.

Wow, pretty good smooth kind of a creamy mouthfeel. I’m getting like toffee and vanilla. Hey, since it’s Derby Day, it only makes sense to drink a beer with bourbon in it. So I'm gonna crush this Oakspire Barrel ale from Knob Creek and New Belgium and you guys stay tuned for the quickest two minutes in sports. Run baby run! Cheers.
