After a string of unseasonably warm weather last week with temperatures soaring into the 80's, Fall has finally arrived here in New Jersey. When it is that warm, it is hard to even think about drinking fall beers. I mean, let's face it, August like heat deserves August like beers. However, now that the weather has cooled down considerably and Halloween is only a week away, I can finally get in the mood to drink something a little more...pumpkin flavored.
Last night I cracked open a can (or two) of Upslope Brewing Company's Pumpkin Ale. I know that many people are not a fan of pumpkin beers and although I am, I completely get it. Pumpkin beers can be a little much with the blend of pumpkin and spices that I, pretty much, can't spell or pronounce. This is not the case with Upslope's Pumpkin Ale. Yes, they used real pumpkins (a plus) and yes, there are plenty of spices in this beer. The difference though is that at no point do you feel that this combination is overpowering. Upslope's Pumpkin Ale is a highly approachable, smooth drinking beer that you absolutely must try. So head out and grab your six pack immediately, it's a limited release and won't be around much longer. #aprèseverything
