The Burton U.S. Open is upon us. and it's time to start thinking about where to après ski in Vail. As America's longest running professional snowboard tournament at 35 years and counting, it is seen as the grand daddy of them all. One of the sport's most coveted prizes and, this year, a preview, to the 2018 winter Olympics.
Vail Mountain is the Disney Land of Ski Resorts
No slouch itself, Vail Mountain Resort is widely regarded as some of the best skiing in all of North America. With just shy of 200 trails and the famous back bowls, there is no shortage of terrain for skiers and riders. This weekend, both worlds collide as thousands descend on Vail resort in Colorado to not only watch this epic event, but also, ski, ride and party. How can you blame them? Vail was described to me by my friend last week as the Disney Land of ski resorts. Doesn't get better than that, right?
I'll leave the skiing and snowboarding up to you but when the day ends, you will need a bar or two to hit up for après ski in Vail. With so many great spots to hang, it is kind of hard to determine which ones to visit. So, here are our must visit bars for après ski in Vail while taking in this week's Burton U.S. Open.

Top Five Bars for Après-Ski In Vail
- Bridge Street Bar: With local music legend, Steve Meyer, rocking the joint from Wednesday through Saturday there's tons of good times to be had at this local dive bar.
- 10th Mountain Whiskey: Head on over to this tourist and local's favorite for some great drinks and après ski atmosphere.
- Shakedown Bar: If you are into live music and a fun scene then this a must for après ski and into the night.
- The Red Lion: A Vail classic and a personal favorite. Kind of divey, but not really (it is Vail after all). Think bar food, live music and a pretty good beer list.
- Los Amigos: There's something about Mexican food and skiing, especially when the margaritas come by the pitcher and the nachos are stacked high. If you're into that kind of stuff then this is your place when the lifts stop spinning.
These five hot spots should be enough to get you started, but if you are looking for even more great après ski in Vail visit our friends over at Luxury Ski Trips. They will have plenty more options for you to choose from.
Whether you are in Vail or not this weekend for the Burton U.S. Open be sure to rock your All About Après gear, especially one of our famous ski hoodies. The If You Don't Apres Ski Hoodie is a fan favorite. It's super soft and the graphics will let everyone know that you are there for a good time.
