Brundage Mountain Snowcat Dinner Returns This Winter

When it comes to Idaho skiing, people often think that Sun Valley is the be all, end all. Don't get me wrong, Sun Valley is certainly great, but if you dig a little deeper through the snow, you'll find that there is a lot of great skiing (and après skiing) in the gem state. Take, for example, Brundage Mountain, which with an average of 320" of snowfall per year is widely regarded as the best powder skiing in Idaho.

320" is a hell of a lot of snow, but that's only the beginning. Brundage has 1,920 acres of lift-accessed terrain, plus an additional 420 unpatrolled lift-accessed backcountry terrain. Combine that with 18,000 acres of guided backcountry skiing and Brundage is Idaho skiing's hidden gem.

With all this deep snow and top-notch terrain right there for the taking, skiers and snowboarders are sure to work up an appetite by the end of the day. To satiate your hunger, Brundage Mountain has plenty of restaurant options to choose from. Smoky's Bar and Grill, Upper Lot Pub and Bear's Den are all worthy choices after a day of skiing Brundage. However, this winter food lovers can elevate their taste buds to new heights as the Brundage Mountain Resort culinary team announces the return of its signature dining experience, the Bear’s Den Dinner After Dark.

Bear's Den Brundage Mountain

The after-hours culinary adventure takes place in Brundage Mountain's popular Bear's Den. If you have been there, you will know that it is a cozy and inviting setting that patrons love to visit. It is, however, located mid-mountain and these dinners do take place after dark.

So how do diners get to the Bear's Den when the sun ceases to shine?

By snowcat, of course!

Climbing aboard, you will be treated to a scenic ride up Brundage Mountain to the mid-mountain log cabin that is Bear's Den. Once there, settle in with a cocktail and be prepared to be treated to a four-course meal featuring a rotating menu of seasonal fresh dishes accompanied by craft beer and wine selections.

The setting is rustic, the conversation is convivial and the meal is simply spectacular.

“This is one of those experiences that you never forget,” says Brundage General Manager, Ken Rider. “From start to finish, our team is working on every detail to make this a one-of-a-kind adventure.”
