Mount Snow Après Ski

The Ultimate 48-Hour Mount Snow Après Ski Foodie Guide

If your perfect winter weekend involves big turns, bold flavors, and a little après magic, then this Mount Snow après ski guide is your new best friend. From dawn patrol runs to late-night toasts, this post maps out the essential eats, drinks, and mountain moments to build your ideal Mount Snow weekend itinerary.

Mount Snow isn’t trying to be anything it’s not. It’s Vermont through and through...laid-back, a little rugged around the edges, and full of character. This is the kind of mountain where the bartender remembers your beer order before you sit down and the liftie gives you a head nod like you’re both part of the same secret club.

It’s southern Vermont’s gateway to good times, a quick drive for weekend warriors and a full-blown playground once you roll into West Dover.

Gear Up for the Trip

You don’t need to overpack, but you do need the right stuff. Layer smart, bring a backup base layer, and don’t forget the boot dryer.

Day 1: Ski Fast, Eat Well, Après Hard

Mount Snow Trip Itinerary

Morning – Coffee, Carinthia, and Cold Turns

Kick things off with a breakfast burrito and a locally roasted coffee at The Grand Country Deli. Located inside the Grand Summit Hotel, it's a simple grab and go option before you click in.

From there, hop on the Grand Summit Express and head straight to Carinthia Parks, Mount Snow’s freestyle hub. Even if you’re not into jumps, it’s worth cruising through for the energy alone. The music is usually pumping, boards flying, locals letting it fly and the snow is characteristically good on that side of the mountain since they are always making new snow to build  and maintain the features.

When the crowds build up, it's time to move over to Sunbrook for longer laps and fewer people. The new Sunbrook Express lift accesses a lot of quality blue terrain that are sure to work up an appetite.

Lunch – Mountain Fuel with a View

Bullwheel Mount Snow

Return to the summit. There you will find the Summit Lodge and The Bullwheel.  Think nachos, tacos, burritos and beers with a view. No trip to the Bullwheel is complete without one of their famous Bloody Marys. If it’s sunny, order one up, grab a seat outside on the deck and soak in those southern Vermont vibes.

Afternoon – Chase the Sun, Then the Drinks

The Bluebird Express is a highly popular lift but if you are looking to max out on your laps, then duck over to North Face. The runs there are fun yet challenging and if you duck into the trees you can usually find some fresh turns since it's often less crowded. It is the perfect way to burn out those legs before heading in for après ski.

When the clock hits 3:30, there’s only one place to be: Cuzzins Bar & Grill (especially on a Saturday). It’s the beating heart of Mount Snow’s après scene all thanks to the unique musical stylings of Bruce Jacques. Bruce has been filling the joint for nearly three decades and shows no signs of slowing down. Trust me when I say that there will be plenty cold brews and chair dancing to keep you entertained for hours on end.

Dinner – Elevated Eats in Dover

After a quick shower and maybe a power nap, it’s time to get a little refined. Head five minutes down the road to Sawmill Bar & Table. Something of a newcomer to the West Dover scene, the the vibe is upscale rustic and the food leans farm-to-table without the fuss.

If you’re staying in town, definitely make a reservation because it fills fast. But don't worry if you can't in, you can always head downstairs to the Red Door Burger Co. A new burger bar with a sports bar meets old farmhouse basement aura, it is worth stopping by even if just for a beer.

Nightcap – Local Vibes and Live Music

If you’re not ready to call it, the Snow Barn is your move. It’s a short stumble from the base and hosts live bands all winter long. Grab a craft beer or whiskey and let the night roll on.

Day 2: The Locals’ Loop and Lazy Lunch

Morning – Cinnabuns, Brews and Cruise Blues

Start easy with a tasty breakfast at Sticky Fingers. Locals and visitors alike know that no visit to the area is complete without one of their Cinnamon Buns and a coffee. They are to die for. Stomachs satiated, hit Main Mountain early to carve a few clean lines before things get busy.

If you want to mix it up, explore Hop and Ridge for classic Vermont runs cut with the mountain terrain. Mount Snow’s grooming team earns its praise and you’ll feel like you’re skiing on corduroy cashmere early on.

Lunch – Midday Fuel & Chill

For lunch, keep it casual and go full comfort mode with the Mac n Cheese from the Vermont Country Deli pop up inside the base lodge. It is hands down the best Mac n Cheese you will ever have and with multiple varieties to choose from on a daily basis, you simply can't wrong. Throw in a craft beer from Canned (just a short walk away in the lodge) and you will have the perfect lunch pairing.

Pro tip: Grab a seat by the windows in Canned and watch the action on the base slopes while your legs recover.

Afternoon – One Last Lap and a Toast

Make your last runs count. It's time to choose your own adventure and revisit some of your favorites. Maybe a final lap through Carinthia is in order or one long cruiser from the summit to the base, either way you can't go wrong. Then, toast the weekend with a local pour at Snow Republic Brewery in West Dover.

No establishment off mountain offers a better après ski scene. Order a pint of our signature All Day Après IPA (a collab with them and me) and their OG Chicken Sandwich - it's the best ever. Then relive your weekend highlights with your crew.

Dinner – Cozy Farewell Feast

Round out your trip with dinner at Two Tannery Road, a local landmark known for its cozy log cabin vibe and hearty plates. The duck breast or prime rib never disappoints, and their après martini is basically a Mount Snow tradition.

Why Mount Snow Après Ski Belongs on Your Radar

Mount snow Apres Ski

Mount Snow’s charm lies in its balance. It’s a resort that doesn’t take itself too seriously.  You can ski world-class terrain by day and toast with locals by night. It’s approachable, it’s alive, and it’s full of flavor; the perfect blend of adventure and indulgence.

So grab your boots, pack your appetite, and set your GPS for West Dover.
Because in southern Vermont, the only thing better than first chair is that first après beer.
