Their promotional material reads WinterWonderGrass...Music, Brews and Mountains. Honestly, as a craft beer loving skier who is a sucker for live music I don't think it gets any better than this. I've been to my fair share of music festivals and there's nothing quite like the ones at ski resorts. Maybe it's that mountain air but everyone just seems a little bit happier than normal. That being said, the second that I found out that WinterWonderGrass was coming to one of my favorite resorts on the East Coast, Stratton, I knew that I needed to be there. So in a few days, I will be packing up the old four wheel drive sleigh and heading up to Vermont to take in all that this amazing music festival has to offer, There is not doubt in my mind that you should too, but just in case you are still up in the air, here are a few more reasons, other than the rocking good lineup of musicians, to help sway your decision.

- Beer Halls: Jamboree, Pickin' Perch and Soap Box are massive heated tents with a full bar and a stage, making this kind of like a German Oktoberfest minus the Oompah Band and lederhosen. These will be perfect for when you are in need of a break from your morning runs and want to warm up with some brews and listen to some of the best up and comers in the bluegrass world.
- Daily Beer Tastings: Sticking with the beer theme, you can sample some of Vermont's finest craft beers 2-5 daily at the beer tasting tent. There are sure to be some delicious ones on tap, like Fiddlehead's special WWG collaboration beer, G-Run Photo credit: WinterWonderGrass
- The Kids Zone: If you have kiddos like me then you are probably thinking that this might not be the place for them. EHHHHHHHHHH...Wrong! Stratton thought of it all here and turned this into a full on family friendly event. With fun activities like face painting and hula hooping and appearances by special guest artists. Not only will mom and dad be happy, so will the kids.
- Food Trucks: Need I say any more? Okay. I guess I will elaborate. Experience delightful local fare from the array of food trucks that will be in attendance daily. Think Diners, Drive ins and Dives but on wheels.
- WinterWonderGrass Gives Back: In their effort to build community, WWG donates a portion of their proceeds to many great charity organizations including local environmental groups, youth educational programs and local and global humanitarian causes. Therefore, attending will not only be fun but will leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling in your heart from helping WWG help others.
