Fun For All Ages at Okemo's Fall in Winter Festival

LUDLOW, Vt. – Okemo Mountain Resort celebrates the changing of the seasons with its annual Fall into Winter Festival presented by Lipton Tea on Saturday, October 6. Jackson Gore, in all of its colorful, fall-foliage glory, will be the setting for enjoying special family activities, Big Buzz Chainsaw Carving, Mountain Outfitters tent sale, local vendors, food, seasonal brews, and live music presented by William Raveis Vermont Properties Team. Admission to Okemo’s Fall into Winter Festival is free and the event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fall into Winter Offers A Full Slate of Family Activities 

 Okemo Mountain Fall into Winter

Starting at noon on October 6, Cold Engines takes to the courtyard stage to entertain with their feisty blend of rock-fueled R&B music. Festival attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets for seating. Family activities, priced separately or bundled together, include face painting, pumpkin decorating and a petting zoo. Lawn games and a pie-in-the-face booth will benefit Okemo Mountain School. Complimentary hayrides will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis. Scenic chairlift rides on Okemo’s Sunburst Six will provide an up-close look at the fall colors and Okemo’s Evolution Bike Park and Adventure Zone will be open. Visitors may enjoy The Timber Ripper Mountain Coaster and the Haulback Challenge Course, trampoline bungee jumping, bounce houses, miniature golf, disc golf, a climbing pinnacle, zipline tours, Segway Personal Transport tours, an inflatable Air Bag and more. Each of Okemo’s Adventure Zone features is priced individually or visitors can purchase an Adventure Zone Day Pass wristband.

 Okemo Mountain Fall into Winter

Okemo’s culinary staff will be serving fresh-from-the-grill favorites and some seasonal specialties too. Shop the local food and craft vendor market and visit Mountain Outfitters tent sale for great deals on winter gear and clothing. Coinciding with Okemo’s Fall into Winter is the 9th annual Big Buzz Chainsaw Carving Festival in Okemo’s Ice House, October 4 to 8. Big Buzz will be running a quick carve event in the Jackson Gore courtyard at 11 a.m. on October 6. Competitors will have 30 minutes to turn a log into a piece of art! Following the competition, the pieces will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. A second Big Buzz quick carve event is scheduled in the Ice House at 2 p.m.
