With a couple of solid snow storms under their belt and more snow in the forecast for later this week many easterners should be poised to spend their Thanksgiving vacation working off that turkey while shredding the gnar.

Vermont has plenty of resorts set to open this week including Bromley, Burke, Jay Peak, Mount Snow, Okemo, Smugglers' Notch, Stowe, Stratton and Sugarbush. Mount Snow has even pushed their opening day up a couple of days to Wednesday thanks to the near foot of snow they received Sunday into Monday.

Amidst all of these early openings, we can't possibly forget about Killington who has been open for a month now, blowing snow and making Superstar look like it is in mid-winter form for the this weekend's FIS World Cup Race. Being the first World Cup race in the east in 38 years coupled with O.A.R. playing a free concert at the event should make this a pretty epic après ski party.
So after your done gorging yourself on your Thanksgiving feast, head on up to Vermont and enjoy the early season skiing and riding at any one of these resorts.
