The Firetower's Signature Bacon Old Fashioned on the Patio

The craft spirits industry is on the rise and it's filtering down into ski resorts across the country. With that growth, more and more bartenders have gotten their creative juices flowing and are stirring up some fun après ski cocktails.
Our newly created après ski cocktails franchise features some of the best craft cocktails from ski resorts and beyond. This week's installment comes directly from our good friends at The Firetower Restaurant and Tavern. Located at the base of the village at Stratton Mountain Resort, The Firetower is specializing and excelling in craft cocktails.
Standing out in The Craft Beer Driven State of Vermont

Seeing an opportunity to capitalize on this growing trend and daring to be different in the craft beer dominated state of Vermont, owners Peter and Beth Micioni wanted to specialize in mixed drinks. On a mission, they tasked their long time bartenders, Giovanna Romana and Mike DiSabato, with inventing some of the mountain's most creative craft cocktails. Mission accepted! Inspired by their off season travels while using fresh local ingredients Romana and DiSabato accomplished this task and are now known as the place to be at Stratton Mountain for delicious creative après ski cocktails.
With a menu filled with excellent choices it was tough to decide which one to feature. So we went with one of this season's newest, the Blueberry Tumble, for you to shake up on your own and share with friends. Cheers!
The Firetower Restaurant and Tavern's Blueberry Tumble
Ingredients:
1 1/2 ounces of Stonecutter Gin
1 ounce of lemon juice
1 ounce of blueberry shrub
3/4 ounce of Lavender simple syrup
Instructions:
Pour contents into a shaker over ice. Shake and strain into a cocktail glass. Top with ginger beer and garnish with a bamboo stick of blueberries.
Pair With:
The Firetower's Baked Brie or their signature and famous Ahi Tuna Nachos.
