Who doesn't love a good slice of pizza for lunch or even at apres ski. This carby, cheesy, saucy vessel of goodness is the perfect reward for your hard-charging-on-mountain-feats. Besides replenishing your body's stores, it also happens to be the ideal compliment to that light, crispy beer you've been craving all day. Knowing full well the tremendous relationship that skiers and riders have with their tasty friend, more and more restaurants in and around the mountains are offering some really innovative pizza creations. - The Notorious F.I.G., Secret Stash:With its stellar combination of three types of cheese, thinly sliced prosciutto, dried black mission figs and a drizzle of truffle oil, it’s no wonder this pizza won the World Champion Pizza Challenge.

- The Woodstock, The WoodStone Grille, CBMR:A vegetarian pie for the finest in all of us. Pesto, olive oil, spinach, roma tomato, artichoke heart, red onion, capers and cremini mushrooms top the mozzarella-fontina cheese blend on this delightful flatbread-esquepizza.

- The Gunny Trail, Mikey’sPizza:New York style pizza has moved west via the Gunny Trail. Speaking of trails, once you’re done on the slopes, the delicious blend of an Alfredo-ricotta base, arugula, bacon and veggies will refuel you for your next adventure.
- The Chicken BBK, Brick Oven Pizzeria & Pub:A little spice, a little sweet and a little “that’s not meant to be here.” This large-and-in-charge pie offers a big blend of jalapeno, pineapple, onion rings, cheddar and chicken with a barbecue sauce drizzle atop traditional red sauce.
- The wood-firedpizza, Paradise on Crested Butte, Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR):CBMR’s newest culinary addition is the pizza oven at Paradise on Crested Butte. Whether you’re chasing powder stashes or little rippers, a quick wood-fired pizza will not only warm you up but also ensure you can stay out until final chair.

- The Hamptons, Secret Stash:A local favorite for its light and summery taste, The Hamptons is a hit even in the winter months with its olive oil base, mozzarella, prosciutto, lemon pepper crust and a garnish of arugula and shaved Parmesan.
- The Cheesepizza, Spellbound, CBMR:When the kids get to decide, they vote Spellbound for some of the cheesiest pizza in town. Grab a full pie or a slice and be back on your way to adventure.
- The Buddha’s Belly, Secret Stash:A wild blend of flavors that takes your love ofpizza and Thai food and marries them into one. The Buddha’s Belly comes with a choice of chicken, shrimp or tofu atop a Thai peanut and coconut curry base, with mozzarella, sesame crust, broccoli, red onion, bell pepper and cilantro, finished with sweet Thai chili sauce, pickled carrots, and of course, chopped peanuts.
