There are certain foods like nachos and wings that are synonomous with après ski. As much as I love those two delicious après ski appetizers, there is nothing like a good hamburger. The heartiness of the meat, cheese, bread and whatever else there is on it is the perfect compliment to a long day on the hill and the final step in your après ski food and beverage induced coma.
One of my favorite après ski hambugers is The 802 Burger from Bar 802 at Stratton Mountain, Vermont. This delectable treat is not for the faint of heart, especially when you start piling up the toppings.
Ingredients:
THE 802 BURGER: Grass Fed Beef Burger with LTO, Waffle Fries and your choice of Cheese: Cabot Cheddar, American, Swiss, Provolone or Pepper Jack
TOPPINGS: Your choice of Pulled Pork, Peppered Bacon, Avocado, Fried Egg, Crispy Onions, Caramelized Onions, Jalapenos, Sautéed Mushrooms, Blue Cheese, Maple BBQ Sauce, Pineapple
Why it's amazing: The option to add a ton of toppings allows you to customize the 802 Burger to your taste preferences. I'm all about the pulled pork and fried egg. Although messy, this delicious combination is well worth it.
