Blog post updated on November 17, 2021

So much in our lives has changed since the current Covid-19 pandemic came upon us almost two years ago. Our beloved ski and snowboard industry has not been the same since. Travel has suffered greatly and so too has the food and beverage industry. Combined, they make up a huge and important component of a good ski vacation.

Obviously, we need to get to our ski destination first. Then, once there, we will definitely need to eat. Despite these prevailing issues within the ski industry, there is some good to come out of the chaos. It has forced those within the industry to pivot in order to survive. One such location is Stowe Mountain Resort's Lodge at Spruce Peak. There they have unveiled new dining options that rank right up near the top of Stowe, Vermont's best restaurants.

Lodge at Spruce Peak Unveiled New Dining Options Last Winter

Creative juices have been flowing at ski resorts across North America since they were forced to shut down in the spring of 2020. Since that time we have seen ski resorts like Snowbasin has made many improvements ahead of their 80th anniversary season. The Lodge at Spruce Peak, located at Stowe Mountain Resort was no exception.

Prior to the 2020-21 winter season, the Lodge at Spruce Peak unveiled new dining options that included a sushi bar, the heated WhistlePig Pavilion and private igloos. With additions like this, there is no doubt that guests found their après-ski in Stowe quite elevated.

Now the Spruce Peak Lodge is back at it. Coming this December they will add two more dining options that will rank among the best Stowe, Vermont restaurants.

Mansfield Terrace Igloo Dinner

During the 20-21 winter season, the Lodge at Spruce Peak announced an all new après-experience highlighted by fresh sushi, excellent libations and their new private outdoor igloos.

Après-ski in an igloo sounds fantastic. Sign me up!

Spruce Peak Lodge has taken their igloos to another level. Amidst spectacular views of Mount Mansfield, you can enjoy upscale après dining options that include S’mores, Fondue, gourmet hot chocolate and more! There is also the new Mansfield Terrace Sushi Bar featuring the freshest sushi on the slopes.

Just the idea of the WhistlePig Pavilion sounds spectacular. You really can't go wrong with a heated outdoor bar area named after a great whiskey brand, right? Especially when said bar is serving cocktails made with WhistlePig rye whiskey. WhistlePig makes some excellent whiskeys that, whether served neat or in a cocktail, will certainly warm you up after a day of Stowe Vermont skiing.

What is even better, is that they are pairing these cocktails with fire-baked raclette cheese. I can't think of anything more après-ski appropriate than an Old Fashioned paired with ooey, gooey raclette cheese.

They even have raclette nachos! Talk about next level

The area's local growers are highlighted in their menu while the bar and tables were even made by local artisans. Nothing says community like après ski.
