When The Snow Report's Halley O'Brien and I started out on this podcast journey back in the summer we total newbs. We had been guests of podcasts, but neither of us had ever recorded a podcast of our own before. That made for a lot of initial research and due diligence just to get the ball rolling. Fast forward a few months and the Beyond the Après podcast was born.
Our 16th and final episode of the first winter season of Beyond the Après is live and ready for your listening pleasure. To say it's been fun would be an understatement. Filled with special guests, a lot of laughs and plenty of boozy conversations, every episode has been like virtual après-ski session for your ears. Now, in this season's last episode of the Beyond the Après podcast, Halley and I are revisiting our first winter season together. With a cameo from a previous guest, après ski cocktails from The Bartender Box and content sourced straight from our fans, this one is a guaranteed good time.
Après-Ski Reimagined With The Bartenders Box
It's custom that Halley and I kick off every episode with an après-ski cocktail and this episode was no different. This week, we were the beneficiaries of a nice gift from Top Shelf Utah. They were kind enough to send us their newest Bartenders Box collaboration with former podcast guest, High West Distillery.
Halley and I thought, why not do an unboxing on air? What an unboxing it was. Joined by our friend, and former guest on the show, Steve Walton from High West Distillery, he walked us through everything that was included in the box. When Top Shelf Says that they give you everything to be your own bartender, they literally give you everything, right down the the swizzle stick and shaker. It's impressive!
So too were the cocktails that we mixed on air. I really think High West had Halley and I in mind when they created them. Each was tailor made to our preferences. I loved the Hold Your Horses, a riff on an old fashioned and Halley really dug the Fools Gold, a spring-like cocktail made with bourbon, lavender and honey. I highly recommend listening to the episode and making them both at home. You won't be disappointed.

This being our last episode of the inaugural winter season, we thought it would be fun if we also heard from you guys. You all make what Halley and I do possible and we love our interaction with you all. Talk about running the gamut. We cover everything from uur favorite pocket snacks, to to our favorite 'lifty sipper' (aka beer on a lift) and everything in between. Chock full of stories including PBR lift drinking escapade and laughs it is a super fun and interactive way to end the season.
