I'm no expert, but I would have to imagine that it's not ideal to have to celebrate a major anniversary amidst a pandemic. Covid protocols and all add a bit of a speed bump to the celebration.

Well...maybe they are more like a barricade.

However, when you are one of the longest operating ski resorts in the country, like Snowbasin Resort and about to celebrate your 80th anniversary you certainly have a few tricks up your sleeve.

Winter 2020-2021 Kicks Off at Snowbasin

Snowbasin Ski Resort

With the 2020-2021 winter season upon us, Snowbasin Resort has added enhancements that, not only, ensure the health and well being of their mountain community but still enable them to enjoy themselves while there.

With health and safety a priority, the ultimate goal of Snowbasin is to limit large crowds in and around the base area, lodges and lift lines. Crowding in these areas, particularly at the base and other lodges is a major cause for concern when it comes to eating and drinking throughout the day. This is especially true with regards to après ski at Snowbasin.

New Improvements Enhance Après Ski at Snowbasin

With that in mind, the three biggest improvements for this season that pertain to food and beverage at Snowbasin are:

  • 3 new on-mountain, outdoor dining options...thinking pizzas, salads, and loaded french fries with a view!
  • The new Overlook Bar within the Needles Lodge with panoramic views from 8,700 ft- Featuring socially-distanced tables, of course. Bottoms up!
  • Yurts and warming huts dispersed around the mountain to avoid overcrowding in lodges...I feel like this is where all the cool kids are going to hang.

Snowbasin and Roosters Brewing Announce 80th Anniversary Collaboration Beer

Snowbasin 80th Anniversary Pale Ale

Snowbasin even has a special new collaboration beer with Roosters Brewing to commemorate the occasion. New for this winter season, Snowbasin joined forces with local Ogden brewery Roosters to brew their 80th Anniversary Pale Ale. Light and crushable, yet full of tropical citrus flavor this craft beer is an excellent choice to celebrate your day and their anniversary.

“Roosters crafted the perfect tribute to 80 years of legendary skiing and riding,” said Alan Dickerson, Director of Food and Beverage at Snowbasin Resort. Having already had it, I echo this sentiment. It's really delicious!

The Snowbasin Pale Ale will be available for purchase at various locations throughout the resort including on draft at Cinnabar, Overlook, Earl's Lodge, Needles Lodge, and John Paul Lodge, and by the can at the new outdoor, slopeside dining locations at Earl’s Lodge, Strawberry Gondola, and the Old Day Lodge. You can also find the beer at all three Roosters Brewing locations and the Compass Rose Lodge

Celebrate Safely This Ski Season at Snowbasin

Snowbasin Lodges

"We are excited to celebrate our 80th anniversary with all of our guests this season, says Davy Ratchford, General Manager of Snowbasin Resort. We've created all new experiences this year to enhance the experience and to keep our guests and staff safe in this time of need."

Snowbasin strives to provide an incredible and safe experience at their resort. That's one of the reasons why they've been around for 80 years. If you haven't been paid them a visit yet, you should. It's one of my favorites and from the looks of it, they are dialed in and ready to celebrate their 80th anniversary safely with you.
