Old man winter did us no favors providing us with limited snow and unseasonably high temperatures. In fact, I can remember skiing at Stratton Mountain over the Vermont Open weekend, which is in early March, with nothing but a t-shirt on. There was soft snow, puddles and bare patches everywhere. Having had the pleasure of attending the Vermont Open last year, I can speak from experience that it is more than just a snowboard event, it's a weekend long celebration of the sport and a music festival on top of that. There I was this past summer, standing at Meuleman's Craft Draught looking back across the street at a new restaurant with the name Honeypie.
