686 Toolbelt: The Snow Pants Belt That Has Everything
Hello everybody, I'm Rich Stoner. Welcome to another All About Après Report, the show where we bring you the best places to play both on and off the mountain plus all the food, beer, gear and more to help make it epic. I'm sitting inside with my air conditioning because right now it feels a little too much like summer for me in the middle of September. That being said places like Utah and Jackson Hole got their first snow last week and it's time to start thinking about ski season.
Today we're going to give you a first look gear review at the new 686 Toolbelts. If you guys don't know anything about this, the original Toolbelt has been one of 686's signature items for about 25 plus years. It has screwdrivers and wrenches and bottle openers all situated right in the belt. I know what you're thinking...
"Rich why the hell would I want to carry a screwdriver in my belt around my waist?"
Simple this thing is gonna get you beers and then it's gonna open them. Let me explain.
Be a Hero and Earn Beers By Wearing a Belt With Your Snow Pants
How is this belt going to give you beers? Let's just say you're skiing with your buddy and he's a snowboarder. You take the lift up, he gets off the lift and he feels something a little loose in his binding. Now he's probably thinking to himself, "oh yeah I have to go back down the mountain and find a snowboard shop take 30-45 minutes out of my day and lose some runs.
Nope, you can be the hero of the day. Take your belt off, disassemble it and use the screwdriver, use one of the wrenches tighten that binding back up for him. Now he's happy. He's so happy that he's gonna buy you beers and just so happens you have the bottle opener to open it.
686's New Hook Toolbelt is Minimalism at its Finest
Let's take a look at these two new items. This is the first update that 686 has made to the Toolbelt in probably about the last decade. This one here, the Hook Toolbelt is made of nylon. It has about two inches of stretch, which is pretty good for you, you know, let's say Sunday morning after you've had two nights of boozing and nachos. It will stretch and still fit. This one is as minimal as it gets. It has the screwdriver right here and it has the bottle opener. And that's about it. Put it on and it just slides in and boom you're good to go.
The Premier Toolbelt is a Maximalist's Dream
This bad boy right here is called the Premier Toolbelt. It has anything and everything you could ever possibly want. Quite honestly it probably has too much, but you know what you never know what's gonna happen. It's really simple. Unbutton it, take this off, and it opens up. We have a flat head screwdriver. You have a Phillips head screwdriver. You even have an Allen wrench. Also, hiding behind that on the belt is another tool that comes out. It has a ruler, a box cutter and six different wrench sizes. This thing is an animal and definitely worth it.
The Ideal Ski Belt if You're All About Après
So like I said, I've been wearing my original tool belt for years and I'm definitely gonna start rocking the Premiere this winter. It's always good to have, just in case, like I said, if your buddy's snowboard breaks. And even if nothing ever happens, at the end of the day when we're All About Après, we can open our beers with the bottle opener.
Listen guys, if you like what you saw go ahead and click that 'Like' button down below and feel free to share this with your friends. Hopefully we'll see you this winter out on the mountain and we can both share beers together and I'll be happy to open them for you.
Remember, it's all downhill from here. Cheers!
