Beyond the Après Podcast: First Tracks With Tuckerman Brewing Company

There is one thing that is for sure. When it comes to the Beyond the Après podcast, my co-host, The Snow Report's Halley O'Brien and I never have a shortage of good beer or spirits on the show. This is especially true with this week's episode. Our friends from Tuckerman Brewing Company, brand manager, Liz Cancelliere and founding member, Nik Stanciu sent a healthy selection of their amazing craft beers for us to sample. The end result? A fun conversation where we learned how Tuckerman Brewing has withstood the test of time and built a strong community of followers in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Getting First Tracks With Tuckerman Brewing

The assortment of beer that Tuckerman Brewing Company sent us included two of the core beers, the Pale Ale and 6288 Stout as well as seasonal releases the First Tracks IPA and Fall Line Rye IPA. Given it's name, it only made sense to drop into the episode with the First Tracks IPA and that we did. A lighter bodied IPA with plenty of citrus notes, it is a refreshing choice to start or end your ski day. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I included it in my ski themed Ultimate 6'er that I recently wrote for Porch Drinking.

Halley and I also sampled their namesake Pale Ale while on the show. With more of a malty backbone, it is not what you'd expect from a Pale Ale. Nonetheless it is still very good and worth giving a try.

A Brewery Built Around Community

Tuckerman Brewing gets it's name from the East's most famous ski and snowboard destination, Tuckerman Ravine. Start rattling off their beers: Rock Pile IPA, Headwall Alt, 6288 Stout, First Tracks IPA and you instantly realize that there is a symbiotic relationship here. The people at the brewery are all about outdoor activities in the surrounding area. Their association with their surroundings doesn't end here though. Located in the Mount Washington Valley the Tuckerman Brew Crew is all about the community and the quality of life that stems from living in the area.

With roughly seven ski resorts (not including Tucks) within close proximity to Conway, NH, Tuckerman Brewing is a top choice for locals when it comes to après-ski. In fact, based on our conversation with Liz and Nic, you get the feeling that it's the spot where everybody knows your name. The outdoor beer garden is an amazing space for skiers and snowboarders to gather safely conversate and drink tasty craft beer. Their awesome live music series during non-pandemic times is what you're looking for after a day of shredding. And, they have throngs of loyal fans that make everyone feel at home.

Does it get any better than this? I don't think so. So be sure to check out this fun conversation to learn more about one of the craft beer apres-ski world's finest. Cheers!
