Last week, I had the opportunity to attend a pre-event dinner hosted by the Park City Area Restaurant Association (PCARA) at Platform by the James Beard Foundation. This exclusive gathering served as a enticing appetizer for their upcoming four-day culinary extravaganza in New York City. As I savored the exquisite dishes, I couldn’t help but anticipate the gastronomic journey that awaited for those attending the main events. The pre-dinner experience left me eager to pay Park City another visit and explore the diverse culinary offerings of their finest chefs.
A Taste of Park City's Culinary Magic
The pre-event dinner was held at the prestigious Platform by the James Beard Foundation. This exclusive venue provided the perfect setting to showcase the culinary prowess of five talented Park City restaurants. Each establishment was invited to present a signature dish, and in some cases, a specially crafted cocktail. The open flow of the dinner allowed attendees to sample these creations, thereby treating them to a tantalizing preview of the culinary delights that awaited at the individual restaurant dinners during the upcoming four-day extravaganza.
Culinary Highlights from the Pre-Event Dinner
From the moment I stepped into the modern yet elegant venue, I was captivated by the aromas and flavors that filled the air from the open kitchen. Greeted with High West Distillery's signature Old Fashioned I wandered the room sampling small bites from some of my favorite Park City restaurants.
- Riverhorse on Main: Their tender, melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu steak, over sauteed leaks was a standout.
- High West Distillery: Their creative pork belly on a bao bun was a delightful surprise, showcasing the versatility of their food accompanied by their renowned spirits.
- Courchevel Bistro: Their French-inspired River Trout dish was a symphony of flavors, highlighting the freshness and quality of the ingredients.
- Tupelo Park City: Their Southern-inspired shredded beef dish was a comforting yet sophisticated treat.
- Stein Eriksen Lodge: Their elegant foie gras appetizer hinted at the indulgent brunch experience to come.
Impeccable Cocktails from Alpine Distilling
The cocktails, crafted by talented mixologists from Park City's Alpine Distilling, were equally impressive. Each drink was a work of art, showcasing the unique flavors of Utah's finest spirits and the world's best gin.
